The International School of Curacao
Curacao has one major hospital and two clinics, the hospital is a public service and is one of the most modern in the whole of the Caribbean. It is said to be the standard of a mid range hospital in the USA. Due to Curacao diving being a main activity, the hospital has a decompression room as well as facilities for major surgery. The two clinics on the island are private and provide good medical services, they are the Taams Clinic and The Antillean Adventist Hospital. Taams was established in 1992 and has facilities for major and minor surgery with the level of care being excellent. Patients get private rooms and the aim of the clinic is to try to provide a more personal, caring level of care than the patients would usually receive in larger hospitals. The Antillean Adventist Hospital, built in 1970, is a 47 bed organization and serves around 2,080 outpatients and 225 inpatients per month. The clinic has plans in place to begin providing sonograms, eye and minor surgeries.
Curacao schools and Curacao hospitals offer the highest standards expected in the world today. Both sectors offer modern facilities one would expect to find on larger islands and even on the mainland USA. |
