The coral has been growing on the rock for centuries and for millions of years there has been a reef growing around the shore like a fringe. In some places the plant life is like a garden. There is a vast array of marine life in Curacao which is beautiful to see up close when diving. There are diving instructors available at most sites so there is no need to worry if you're a novice. Curacao Diving is an experience not to be missed and if you are having your vacation in Curacao then it is definitely a must do!
Water Sports are the Main Activity in Curacao
Water sports - There are plenty of water sports to choose from on Curacao so much so you will be spoilt for choice! There are group activities for the whole family or even a group of friends to enjoy. Jet skiing and water skiing are just a few to name out of the abounding choice.
Biking- Although you may not expect it, biking on Curacao is a very popular and enjoyable activity. The weather is always fine and the scenery is unbeatable so biking is most definitely the best way to see all the beautiful scenery. There are constant rolling hills along with at least 50 miles of ride able roads for those who are not keen on the hills. The road surfaces are not always great, however they are still fine to ride on. If you are planning to ride from the east end of the island then you should be aware that there can be tailwinds which are as fast as 30 kph on the ride back.
Hiking and Walking ñ If you like walking and hiking then there is no better place than Curacao to enjoy this sport. With the beautiful weather and scenery you will not be disappointed with a nice walk around the island. There are plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants available for you to stop at for those much needed refreshments. On the island there are many trails which are not reachable by car and are hardly ever visited. There are guided walks in which you will see all the important interesting sites, however if you prefer to go it alone, you can obtain information regarding the trails to enjoy a walk at your own pace.
